MYZONE’s group heart rate monitoring system has been installed at SNAP Fitness Duluth to further educate its members about the importance of using a heart rate monitor during a workout.
“It’s a huge benefit for the member and the trainers themselves,” said Mike Feist, Operations Manager.
Feist said SNAP Fitness in Duluth incorporates MYZONE in the facilities Transformation program as well as interval involved workout classes. He said MYZONE enhances the quality of workout his members receive.
“Having a heart rate monitor allows us to determine how hard everyone is working during our interval involved workouts,” said Fiest, “It’s helpful for the trainer and the participant as well. It allows them to have a better understanding of the level of intensity they are exerting during the class.”
The technology also allows trainers to keep in contact with participants through an email system. Feist said this feature has proved to be beneficial for his facilities transformation program, allowing trainers to hold clients responsible for their assigned workouts.
Feist says his goal with integrating the MYZONE system into his facility is to further educate his clients about the importance of a healthy workout.
“It’s more than just trying to achieve the most calories burned, the highest heart rate, or the most MEPS (MYZONE Effort Points) earned. It’s more about teaching the clients in the inner workers of each zone they’re in and the benefits of those zones,” said Feist.
