SNAP Fitness, located in Platteville, Wisconsin was one of the early adaptors of the MYZONE group heart rate monitoring system. The popular fitness center has been using the award winning technology since December of 2011.
“It is important for our members to understand how important their heart rate is while exercising,” said owner, Jen Schewigert, “We have people come in all the time and just sit on the recumbent bike for 30 minutes. They’ll get up and leave thinking ‘I’ve worked out for 30 minutes–that’s a good workout’ when in reality they’re not really understanding that there is more to it than that.”
Through adapting the MYZONE heart rate tracking technology, members of the Platteville SNAP Fitness have been able to gauge the intensity of their workouts in real time, with increased accuracy. According, to Schewigerts this allows members to get the most of out each of their workouts.
“If you want to take your fitness to the next level, I think that this is a good way to do it,” she said, “MYZONE allows our members to see exactly what they are doing during their workouts. It helps show them when they can push themselves a little more during their workouts and when they need to back off.”
Although MYZONE’s group heart rate tracking technology has changed since 2011, Schewigert said, MYZONE’s commitment to club operators and their users has not. With the expansion of their product line and the addition of a personalize mobile app, the MYZONE system has expanded to not only support and grow the club but is also able to meet with each user right where they are.
“They’ve always been very helpful when I’ve needed to call. The one thing I really like about MYZONE is that if the belt seems to malfunction we can send them in and they will replace them for us–free of charge,” said Schewigert,
