Member engagement is the reason Steele Sacks adopted MYZONE in his facilities in Village of Oak Creek, Cottonwood, and Sedona, Arizona.
“MYZONE allows me to double the length my members stay,” said Sacks.
Since implementing MYZONE’s heart rate tracking system in November, Sacks said he’s noticed members will stay an average of 11 months longer if they are using MYZONE technology. He believes that’s due to the social aspect of the app, which helps keeps members motivated and accountable.
“People love the social integration of the app because it allows them to see what they’re doing, how they’re doing it and when they’re doing it. It helps them keep track (of their workouts,)” said Sacks.
Sacks said many of his members like the product so much, it has generated a “buzz” about his facility.
“We’re lucky in the fact that we have a handful of members that spend so much time making a buzz (about the product), that it grabs other members’ attention,” said Sacks.
To further increase member engagement, Sacks has also created an incentive program using MYZONE technology. The program gives members a $10 credit towards their facility membership, if they can prove, using their MYZONE data, that they have worked out 3 times a week for 4 weeks during the first seven months of their facility membership. Using a challenge to motivate members has proved to be a successful way to both motivate and engage the growing SNAP Fitness population.
“It makes it easy to sell the units and keep members engaged,” Sacks said about the MYZONE initiative.
In the coming months, Sacks hopes to continue to further increase his member engagement with the help of MYZONE, while educating his members of the benefits of using an accurate heart rate monitor during their workouts in and outside of the gym.
