MYZONE has entered into a partnership with the national Workplace Challenge from County Sports Partnership Network after the technology successfully engaged employees in physical activity as part of a pilot study. The technology was used as part of a project with Blackpool Council and Lancashire Sport.
Working with an average of 15,000 employees per year, the workplace-based exercise heart rate tracking system generates a variety of leader boards which compare the activity levels of employees and businesses locally, regionally, and nationally. Workplaces can also benefit from access to local activities and events, as well as the local knowledge and expertise from County Sports Partnerships for the development of on-site activity.
The aim of the pilot was to test the integration of the wearable technology in the programme and how it helps employees to easily keep track and be motivated by their activity. The data collected by MYZONE automatically updated the participant’s online Workplace Challenge account and placed them on the national leader boards.
Following the success of the pilot, MYZONE has become an official partner of the Workplace Challenge and the technology is now available to all participations across the UK. Employees can purchase a MYZONE exercise heart rate tracking belt with a £70 discount off the RRP price of £129.99.
“MYZONE provides employees with a simple but highly effective way to keep track of their activity and because it’s based on a percentage of max heart rate, it’s a truly inclusive way for everyone to move more, be rewarded and generate some fun competition.” says Andrew Watson, Project Manager for the national Workplace Challenge.
MYZONE’s 99.4% device accuracy to an ECG machine makes it the perfect platform to effectively acknowledge and reward all employee’s exercise. Furthermore, its social functionalities and versatility to work with third party products such as Strava, Garmin, Apple iWatch as well as the Workplace Challenge platform adds value to all and meets the employees where they are.
“We’re delighted to partner with the national Workplace Challenge to help employers engage and motivate their workforce to sustain regular exercise by rewarding effort and creating an inclusive democratised exercise experience for all,” says Jonathan Monks, director EMEA at MYZONE.
“It’s the only exercise heart rate tracking system in the world that is aligned with World Health Organization guidelines on physical activity, acknowledging and rewarding the value of consistently achieving 150 minutes of moderate or 75 minutes of vigorous intensity exercise a week, to significantly improve employees’ health.”
Employers in England where the Workplace Challenge is available can offer MYZONE to their employees directly or through a discount code by contacting email@example.com.
