The New Year is a great time for setting goals, especially when it comes to fitness. Planning out benchmarks for 2017 can be a fun way to keep yourself focused on what you would like to accomplish in the upcoming year. A great way to plan your fitness goals and hold yourself accountable is by using the MZ-3 belt and MYZONE app to keep track of your exercise progress throughout the year.
Set some fun goals
In addition to serious fitness goals, set some fun goals to keep your motivation and morale up throughout the year. These goals should still be fitness related, but more lighthearted, and can be on a smaller scale as a way to keep you on track. Here are some examples:
- I will be able to touch my toes without bending my knees by the end of April.
- I will be able to do 80 consecutive squats by the end of June.
- I will be able to do 40 consecutive push-ups by the end of August.
- I will be able to run a 10K in under 55 minutes by the end of October.
- I will be able to do 250 consecutive jumps on a jump rope by the end of December.
Why smaller goals help
Smaller, more fun, goals keep you on track by focusing your attention on improving different fitness areas. These “mini-goals” will aid you later in completing your overarching goal(s). Small goals that work through flexibility, body weight exercise and cardio all work together in the end to help you better perform any fitness goal you could set for yourself. Each of these areas work to improve heart, muscular and overall body health.
The best way to set and keep a fitness resolution is with a little help. If you didn’t receive the MYZONE MZ-3 belt this holiday season, get yourself a gift that will keep on giving through the upcoming year and beyond. Help yourself reach each of your goals and make sure to keep track of your progress with the MYZONE app. Also, let us know how these goals work for you or if you have others by posting on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Make sure you use #myzonemoves and #effortrewarded so we can find you!
