Circuit training for MEPs

Written by Myzone | Wednesday, 2 December 2015

What is circuit training and how does it help you earn MEPs? Circuit training is a fast-paced workout session in which you do one exercise for anywhere from 30 seconds to 5 minutes and then move on to the next form of exercise. Circuit training is great for those who get bored with working out easily. With the consistent change of pace and change of form in exercise, you’re guaranteed to stay engaged and constantly moving. You won't have time to get bored, your heart rate will stay up, and you’ll be strengthening multiple muscle groups--all at the same time.

Some of the top reasons why MYZONErs love circuit training are:

  • It saves you time in and outside of the gym. Short sessions back to back keep you focused and earn you MEPs in a short amount of time
  • It involves your whole body. Gone are the days of hopping from machine to machine to get a full body workout in. Circuit training allows you to hone in on each muscle group by creating different sessions for each area of your body.
  • It’s good for your heart. MYZONE supports almost all forms of exercise that not only focus on your fitness, but also on that life-sustaining muscle inside of your chest. If your body is putting in strong workout effort, so is your heart.
  • It improves your endurance. Runners, bikers and swimmers and other long-distance exercise fanatics should all be fans of circuit training. Conditioning both your heart and body through cardiovascular training is the key to running longer, biking further and swimming faster than ever before.

With circuit training you can switch up the sequence, swap out the stations, and do the circuit at the gym with equipment, at home with a jump rope, dumbbells and resistance bands. Or try to throw in some circuit training during on your morning run by adding in squats, push ups, sprints, or whatever else you can think of!

Circuit training is another great way to earn MEPs and keep your heart pumping throughout the holidays and through the new year! Share with us how circuit training has helped you get in your zone with MYZONE using #EffortRewarded
