The largest multi-sport festival for businesses is almost here, attracting thousands of competitors from hundreds of companies around the country.

Hosted annually in a different city each year, the 2024 UK Corporate Games is heading to Leeds, taking place from 25-28 July, with Myzone tracking participants’ effort with every move.

What’s new for the 2024 UK Corporate Games?

“The UK Corporate Games is a platform for companies from all business sectors to engage employees, address CSR strategies, raise brand awareness and, ultimately, have fun,” says Ryan Johnson, director of sport and communications at Corporate Games.

“New sports for 2024 include padel tennis, one of the most trending sports in the UK, and walking football, encouraging wider participation in one of the world’s favourite sports.

“There are going to be over 20 sports to get involved in. In addition, with the facilities available to us this year, cycling and open water swimming are returning to the programme.”

What businesses are involved in the Corporate Games?

“We’ve had a lot of success seeing organisations sign up for the Games,” Ryan continues. “Many of them see the benefits of getting involved and return with a larger team for the following year.

“For example, Barclays almost doubled their team size from the 2022 event to 2023, and companies such as Insight, Freeths, Safran, and Stryker have returned annually with over 100 participants.”

How does Myzone benefit corporate wellness?

“Technology such as Myzone can be used as a way to maintain and endorse engagement between staff; it can unite teams and encourage healthy competition.

“It’s important that businesses promote a more inclusive workplace and encourage people to remain or to get active. The right tech can provide a unique experience, and it’s a continuing trend for all types of physical activity, or just general health and fitness.

“Incorporating this into corporate wellness schemes is much more likely to increase engagement from staff.”

What do the Corporate Games participants think?

“I used Myzone for the first time last year at the Corporate Games and it was brilliant! It gave me deeper insights into how I was working and pushing my body during the netball games.

“The lady who set up the devices for me was extremely helpful and spent the time talking through our results at the end of the weekend, too."
