The Marlow Club plans to roll MYZONE out throughout the club following the success of the spin heart rate monitor technology in the facility’s group cycling studio.
The premium club in Marlow, Buckinghamshire is the home gym of Tony Linturn who recently secured the title of MYZONE Mover 2014. Training for an average of three hours a day at The Marlow Club for one year, the 70 year old beat users of all ages across the world to achieve the highest number of MYZONE Effort Points through the global Facebook challenge proving that age is no barrier to effort.
The full service club, which has 3,000 members, includes a large gym, studio, separate spin studio with 28 bikes, outdoor training area, 20m pool, sauna and steam room. It has been using MYZONE in its group cycling studio for a few years, says operations manager Kerena Lines: “MYZONE is used in live mode in the Spin Studio but is promoted as a tool that can be used anywhere in or outside the club. It helps with retention and also creates a real social buzz, especially during our spin classes. It can quite competitive at times!”
Keen to replicate the success of the technology, the club plans to roll out MYZONE throughout the gym this year.
“We are always on the lookout for new and innovative products to keep our members engaged and help them with their training, and MYZONE helps with all of that. We now want our members to benefit MYZONE elsewhere in the club,” says Kerena.
